I’ve seen multiple stories on the Nintendo Wii Fit games being used in nursing homes and hospitals to help people with health or mobility issues.
The latest health segment of our local news showed a 34 year old stroke victim bowling on Wii fit. His physical therapist said the game is helping him regain his hand eye coordination and this increased physical and brain activity is helping him regain the use of his paralyzed right arm and leg.
In another health segment, there was a story about seniors in a retirement center playing games on the Wii and they ALL increased their stamina, slept better and felt better about life in general after a few weeks.
Is it possible to slow the onset of senile dementia or Alzheimers by playing games on the Nintendo Wii? I don’t know but I’m willing to bet you’ll have fun finding out.
This guy probably doesn’t even realize he’s exercising but he’ll remember it in the morning when his muscles remind him.
